Third Cloverfield Movie begins viral promo on 10th anniversary

Yesterday marked the 10th Anniversary of the release of the original Cloverfield, and fittingly, Paramount Pictures has begun viral promotion for the upcoming untitled third Cloverfield movie (previously known as God Particle), which will be released on April 20, 2018. The cryptic viral site for Tagruato (a corporation at the heart of the original film’s viral alternate reality game/ARG) features a browser incompatibility message, but when the brightness and contrast are turned up, a message is (barely) readable.

Via Reddit: “Tokyo – January 18 2018: Tagruato has begun development on a revolutionary new energy technology in what Ceo Garo Yoshida called a technological great leap forward for our planet. This renewable technology will take at least 4 years to complete along with another six years International regulatory bodies to bring the powerful revolutionary energy source by April 18 2028”

There’s also a strange face pattern visible in the background, one that looks like either a turtle or, possibly, a similar creature to the iconic Clovey…

The plot for the untitled Cloverfield movie is said to revolve around an American space station that, after an accident with a particle accelerator, suddenly finds that Earth has vanished altogether. Things get stranger when they then pick up traces of another space station nearby....

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost to make TV series Truth Seekers

According to Variety, British comedy team Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are set to return to television with the paranormal series Truth Seekers. To be made through the pair’s new production company Stolen Picture, Truth Seekers will be a half-hour comedy-horror series about a three-man paranormal investigation team, with each episode focusing on a different paranormal incident in a “monster-of-the-week” format.

“Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something,” Pegg says. “It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown. ‘Shaun of the Dead’ was a very parochial story set in North London and somehow it managed to get this global reach because everyone understands the language of zombie movies.”

“Despite being very British, in terms of their sense of humor and perspective on the world, they have created content that has been lapped up around the world,” said Wayne Garvie, president of international production at Sony Pictures Television, which is backing Stolen Picture. “Whether as actors, writers, producers, or even directors they have a constituency around the world they reach out to and a...

2018 Comic Book Movies: A look at the year ahead

With the arrival of the new year, it’s no secret that 2018 is already gearing up to be one of the biggest comic book movie years to date. The 2018 comic book movies include highly-anticipated sequels, standalone films, and introductions into new universes and storylines that will draw in massive audiences and, more than likely, huge box office numbers.

The New Mutants, X-Men’s introduction into the mutant horror genre in the cinematic universe, was originally slated to hit theaters on April 13. It was announced, however, that the film about five young mutants being held captive in a secret facility has been pushed back to February 22, 2019 and will not be one of the 2018 comic book movies after all. With that being said, the rest of 2018 seemingly remains intact, and with more than enough content to entice comic book fans worldwide.
