It’s been almost one year since the launch of PlayStation VR! And in that time, PlayStation and its development partners have built a library of more than 100 games that cut across all genres… and created a few new ones in the process. To celebrate, we’re kicking off a new series of videos, the first of which you can watch above.

We’re just getting started with this powerful new entertainment medium. This new video series expresses the physical sensations you experience when PS VR transports you to the amazing gaming worlds like Skyrim VR and Gran Turismo Sport.

It’s a good time to join the VR gaming revolution. We’ve been hard at work building up a library of the best VR gaming content in the business — check out the list of what’s available on PS VR below, including some favorites picked out by the PlayStation.Blog team.

Spoiler warning! Near the end of this episode, we openly talk about the ending of the classic anime Cowboy Bebop! We call it out pretty clearly before we spoil anything, but please be aware of this if you haven’t seen the show yet (in which case, you should watch it).

In this week’s PlayStation Blogcast, our intrepid heroes venture once more into the heated waters of Spoiler Territory. It leads to perhaps our most heated discussion yet on the show, but fret not — Sid and Justin did not quite attack each other off-set.

Monster Hunter: World brings you into a rich and intricate set of living, breathing ecosystems, and to prepare you for the wildest dangers of this new world, we introduce a robust home base of operations to supply your every need. Enter: Astera.

Astera, the beating heart of the Research Commission, has everything a hunter needs:

Guild representatives: these are your points of contact for every quest in the game. They’ll give you all the details on every quest, including any special instructions and potential hazards.

Blacksmiths: as you take down foe after foe, you can bring raw materials, such as scales, claws, bones and minerals, to the blacksmiths and they’ll forge new weapons and armor to prepare you for the next hunt.

Shopkeepers: in addition to picking the right weapon and armor set for the job, you’ll also need healing potions, traps and ammo. Talk to these folks on your way out to the field to replenish your toolset.

Cantina: this is arguably the most important spot in Astera. As every good hunter knows, you should never hunt on an empty stomach, so head on over to the cantina and get a delicious meal before every quest to boost your stats!

Research team: we wouldn’t be a “Research Commission” without one, and these fellows play a key role in Monster Hunter: World. As you saw in our latest trailer above, you have a pretty important job ahead of you, and you’ll be working alongside Astera researchers to get it done.

What big operation is this? What...

Are you a big fan of fishing, but don’t want to wait for hours for a fish to take the bait? Fishing Master, a fishing sim that releases exclusively for PlayStation VR on October 24, has a free demo that launched today, and it’s sure to reel in gaming enthusiasts big and small.

Fishing Master skips the worst parts of fishing—waking up early, being really cold, sitting around doing nothing for long stretches of time, third-degree sunburn—and focuses instead on the best part: the battle of man versus fish.

Download free demo | PlayStation Store

The PlayStation Move Motion Controller feels just like a fishing rod in your hand while you play, but after you’ve hooked a fish, it also then jerks and shakes with the fish’s attempts to get free. You’ll feel the fight from head to toe as you wear your foe down, so you can bring it into the boat (before snapping the line or breaking your fishing rod). You might think the game is simple, but it’ll require intense concentration, fast reflexes and your utmost patience to net these elusive swimmers.

Once you get your catch in the boat, you’ll be able to transport it to your personal aquarium. There’s no better display of your fishing skills than a tank filled with your many conquests.

If you really want to test your skills, take...
