Hearts are heavy in the Chicago Hip-Hop community as reports flooded in that rapper Fredo Santana has died. The artist born Derrick Coleman suffered health issues last fall, leading many to speculate that the cause of his death was related.
Santana made his mark in the game as part of Chicago’s Drill music scene alongside his cousin, Chief Keef. Although Santana dropped just one studio project in 2013’s Trappin Ain’t Dead, he stayed busy on the mixtape front and dropped two projects last year while hard at work on another project, Walking Legend 2.Walking Legend 2 is my favorite project an I only got 7 songs done so far …… can't wait to it's finished an complete — FREDO SANTANA SSR (@FREDOSANTANA300) January 16, 2018
Hip-Hop artists and fans alike have posted their condolences for Santana via social media, which can be viewed below. Santana leaves behind 8-month-old son Legend. He was 27.

Word is there will be 2 new Drake songs dropping at midnight (Jan. 20). And they are here
As Drake noted on his Instagram, the songs are called “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity.” The songs are from a 2-track EP titled Scary Hours.
Drake being Drizzy on both of these joints. “God’s Plan” has a bouncier groove while “Diplomatic Immunity” is a string-heavy number.
Ludwig Göransson, Donald Glover‘s chief collaborator on the Childish Gambino Grammy Award-nominated Awaken, My Love! project, has another huge project in the works. In a chat with FADER, the Swedish composer and producer discussed working with Glover and scoring the highly-anticipated Black Panther film.
Tell me a little bit about how you got involved in scoring Black Panther
It’s incredible. I’ve been working with Ryan Coogler for about eight years now — I scored Fruitvale Station and Creed. He’s an incredible artist and this movie is completely a beast of its own. I haven’t really ever seen a big budget Hollywood film with African music. Most of the time it’s just Hollywood’s perception of what African music is.
Some of Göransson’s other projects include working on the music for Glover’s old show, Community, where they first began working together, and other sitcoms like Happy Endings among others. His first big break came during his work with Ben Stiller’s campy comedy, Tropic Thunder.

Jay-Z television appearances are getting increasingly rare. But political analyst Van Jones managed to book Hova as the first guest on his brand new The Van Jones Show on CNN.
Reports Page Six:
““This is an opportunity to really reflect on where we are and where we are going,” he says of “The Van Jones Show,” which will debut Saturday, January 27, at 7 p.m. on CNN, taped before a live audience. “We will have cultural icons and political leaders on the one hand, but we will also be going out into the country, talking to ordinary people.” Jones intends to use social media, live-crowd interaction and taped segments of visits with people across America to analyze the trends shaping the 2018 and 2020 elections.
But yes, the show will have some glitter, too. Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter will appear on Jones’ opening effort, ready to talk about activism and some of the themes behind his recent album, “4:44.” The album “is a real social justice classic, and I want to talk to him about that,” says Jones, as well as topics like economics and race. The two know each other through Roc Nation, Carter’s entertainment company, which counts Jones as a client. “I didn’t have to Google to find the phone number,” Jones jokes.”
This past summer, Jones went on a nationwide tour called WE RISE, which was sponsored by Roc Nation. The purpose was to connect artists, athletes, thought leaders and activists.

Long before Tom Hardy became one of Hollywood’s brightest names he had dreams of being an MC. He even crafted a full length project that has been recently uncovered.
Back in 1999 he was known as Tommy No. 1 and actually had a record deal in place. Crafted with DJ / producer Eddie Too Tall AKA Ed Tracy (award winning television writer), Falling On Your Arse In 1999 was 18 tracks deep and featured a wide range of topics from the mind of Hardy.
According to an interview BBC conducted with Hardy in 2011, The Revenant actor picked up the microphone around 14 or 15 and has influential music executives backing him. “I used to be with the guy who managed Leela James and Lauren Hill, Pras, the Fugees and all that. I worked out with (Grammy-winning producers) Warren Riker and Gordon Williams. I’ve recorded loads of stuff but it’s never been released” he explained.
The effort was quietly uploaded to Bandcamp earlier this month but Pitchfork was savvy enough to spot it. Tom has yet to comment on the lost tape. You can give Falling a listen below.

Will Smith is currently all the rage on Instagram right now and if you don’t believe us just ask his 5.4 million followers. Now it looks like his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith is about to make a major move herself by landing her own talk show that will live on Facebook.
Deadline broke the news of the new show while covering Pinkett at Sundance, the show will feature Smith’s daughter Willow Smith and her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris. The talk show coming to Facebook Watch (Facebook’s platform for original content) will be called Red Table Talks and it is described as an inter-generational family talk show where the three women will talk about issues like sex, blended families, relationships, parenting, body image, fashion and beauty secrets.

The Drake OVO/Jordan collaborations have been tasty morsels for hypebeasts circling release dates for the past few years, but some exclusive OVO Air Jordan 8’s have just hit the market and it’ll take a hype overlord to get their claws on these joints.
Last year Drizzy flaunted a two pairs of Kentucky Blue Jordan VIII’s on his IG page to remind everyone that it’s good to be the King of The North in the rap game. Dubbed the “Calipari Pack” the black and blue and white and blue Jordans had sneakerheads fiendin’ for the chance to cop their own pair to stunt in.
Now those fiends will have their chance as the black and blue pairs have popped up at Flight Club for a cool $40,000.
Not too long after posting the “Calipari Pack” Dreezy held an online contest in which he’d bless the person with the best comment with a pair and it seems like not only did he honor his word, but that winner is now looking to cash in on the prize.
We can’t be mad though. Who wouldn’t wanna flip something free for $40k?
That being said we’re just wondering who out there is willing to put up a down payment on a house just to look fly out here in these streets.
Early this week, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian welcomed a new baby daughter to their family via a surrogate. Today (Jan. 19), we learn the kid’s name, Chicago West.
Per 2018 protocol, the news was dropped via social media.Chicago West. https://t.co/3MyLwcIzTh — Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) January 19, 2018
Also per 2018 protocol, people are chiming in with their opinions as if it will make any difference.

It’s 2018, and 50 Cent and Ja Rule are still beefing. Ja Rule took to Twitter to respond to Fif’s latest jab (that he would put Rule to sleep on sight), but it’s the Internets’ reaction to their neverending struggle that is truly entertaining.
As for Rule, he started going in with some fairly aggressive tweets this morning (Jan. 19).Fun hip hop FACT: @50cent is PUSSY… — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 19, 2018 Yeah I do @50cent got beat up, stabbed and shot what do you remember??? https://t.co/NDq3fLoLtr — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 19, 2018 Let’s be clear I mind my business… but for some reason @50cent keeps my name in his mouth… I think he’d rather have my dick in his mouth lmao… #bitchassnigga #ticklebooty — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 19, 2018 Yo @OsheaJacksonJr stay sucker free my brother… @50cent ain’t killing nothing ain’t letting nothing die… I smell pussy is that you fif lol… — Ja Rule (@Ruleyork) January 19, 2018

By now it’s pretty much understood that Donald Trump banged porn star Stormy Daniels, while he was married to Melania Trump. More details of their affair are being revealed, like the fact that he didn’t wear a condom when he boned her.
Yep, y’all President is a peak savage.
Stephanie Clifford aka Stormy Daniels told her story to In Touch Weekly back in 2011, but just recently published the interview. The affair went down in 2006, and now we have full transcript of said interview.
It is loaded with struggle, but let us focus on the Cheeto Prez’s raw doggin’.
IT: Did you use protection?
IT: Was that a conversation or was it kind of in the moment?
Stormy: It was kind of in the moment. And I was really kind of upset about it because I am so, like, careful. The company I work for is condom-only. But I remember for a fact that we didn’t because I’m allergic to latex. And I didn’t go up there with condoms on me. I know that for a fact because 99% of men don’t carry non-latex condoms on them, so I usually always have one in my backpack but I thought I was going to dinner, so I only had a tiny little cocktail purse.
IT: Was the sex romantic?
Stormy: It was textbook generic. It wasn’t like, “Oh my God, I love you.” He wasn’t like Fabio or anything. He wasn’t trying to have, like, porn sex.
IT: Did he say anything to you...
The third annual Yams Day concert held to honor the life of Steven “A$AP Yams” Rodriguez was broken up Thursday night (Jan. 18) after a brawl erupted on the premises. While fan speculation regarding the reasons why the fight took place was high, the story is still very much in development.
As reported by several outlets, the Yams Day concert took place at the New York Expo Center. Aside from the A$AP Mob and its flagship artists A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg, Lil Yachty, Nav, G Perico, French Montana and more were all slated to take the stage. With A$AP Rocky on stage and two hours into the event, a fight broke out in the venue causing security to intervene according to a New York Daily News report.
It appears the fight broke out backstage, and there was early speculation that Tekashi 6ix9in started the brawl or was beat up and shot although he disputed the claims via a Facebook Live video. There was also an account of gunfire but the NYPD said that nothing the sort took place. Rocky was speaking to the crowd trying to get the stage cleared when the fight went down and was rushed to safety after the tensions grew.

Like Donald Trump does to Hillary Clinton, 50 Cent continues to slander Ja Rule’s being even though the beef has been cooked, served, and excreted.
This time around Curtis Jackson decided to take another pot shot at Jeffery Atkins while on Big Boy’s Neighborhood show on Real 92.3 L.A. radio station yesterday while promoting his latest film Den of Thieves.
Sitting next to Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr., 50 Cent and company began talking about Ja Rule with OJJ admitting that “I told 50 when I met him ‘I like Ja Rule. I was a fan… [50 Cent] came out – threw [Ja Rule’s] CD right out my grandma car. It’s not for me. Nope!”
When Big Boy asked 50 if it would be some “on sight” drama with Ja should they run into each other in 2018 Fif simply said “I done put ’em to bed.” And while 50 said he did take the same flight as Ja one time he also recognized that “As soon as you get to the airport it becomes federal.”
To quote the late-great Tupac Shakur, “Will there ever be peace?”
Naturally social media got jokes about the beef being well past aged and took to Twitter to post their feelings on the situation. Check out some of the more comedic reactions below and let us know if 50 and Ja should squash this drama already."Ja Rule,...
The 2016 shooting incident at a Meek Mill concert in Connecticut continues to dog the Philadelphia rapper. One of the two men injured during the shooting has filed a lawsuit, claiming the MMG artist was responsible while also naming Roc Nation in the lawsuit as well.
Dylan Thomas was shot in the leg, and claims Meek’s responsible because he was the man in charge. Thomas goes on to say there has been violence at previous Meek Mill concerts, so he should have known the real possibility of more violence existed and therefore should have had more security.
The incident went down after the concert in a parking lot on the premises.
The lawsuit also names Roc Nation as a defendant, alleging it allowed “thugs” to remain on the premises after they had exhibited disorderly, disruptive, argumentative, angry, and/or agitated behavior.
Two men died in the shooting, while Thomas and another person were shot. Meek Mill has already been slapped with previous lawsuits related to the shooting.
Lamar Odom quickly learned Thursday afternoon that you don’t mess with the Kardashians. After the retired NBA great took a jab at ex Khloe Kardashian and her penchant for dating NBA players, Kim Kardashian swooped in with an epic clapback on Twitter that had everyone talking.
Former NBCUniversal executive Mike Sington tweeted, “Lamar Odom on Khloe Kardashian: I knew my marriage to Khloe was over “when she was on her second or third NBA player,” which got considerable responses. However, Sington nor Odom probably didn’t bank on Kim K chiming in to defend her sister’s name.
“Or second or third brothel,” Kardashian wrote in the caption for the retweet, garnering over 110,000 retweets and over 435,000 likes and counting.
The burn was so good, John Legend’s better half, Chrissy Teigen, even had to respond. Omarosa Manigault infamously got fired from her cushy White House gig. So it should surprise no one that she may potentially drop dime on the administration, and may have secretly recorded audio to help her cause.
Reports the New York Daily News:
“Former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault-Newman may have taped confidential West Wing conversations and fears being caught up in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe, sources told the Daily News on Thursday.
The former reality TV star’s official last day in the Trump administration is Saturday — despite the abrupt announcement of her departure last month — and her next step seems to be lawyering up.
The soon-to-be former assistant to President Trump and director of communications for the White House Office of Public Liaison has held exploratory meetings with several high profile attorneys for potential representation, a source told The News.
Manigault-Newman has met with Harvey Weinstein’s former attorney Lisa Bloom and former Bill Cosby lawyer Monique Pressley, among others.”
That’s probably what Bob Mueller asked when he heard about Omarosa.
Dave Chappelle turned heads after saying that the women who accused comedian Louis C.K. of sexual harassment and misconduct of having a “brittle spirit” which naturally didn’t go over well with some. The popular funnyman was out on the town and approached about actress Olivia Munn’s quip of calling him “tone deaf” for the jokes.
Dave was out with his pal, John Mayer, Wednesday night — hitting Craig’s and Delilah in WeHo — when we asked him about Olivia calling him “tone deaf” for his jokes about Louis C.K. and sexual harassment. If you missed it … Dave said Louis’ alleged victims had a “brittle spirit,” among other things.
The comedian had a very direct and positive response for Olivia.
Despite the criticism over his latest Netflix stand-up specials, Dave was still swarmed by fans and paps at the end of the night. As he said, “I’m very famous.”
Munn recently came forth late last year and said that director Brett Ratner sexually harassed her.
Kodak Black got arrested, again. The Florida rapper actually got pinched while he was livestreaming on Instagram.
According to Local 10, Kodak got popped for grand theft of a firearm, possession of marijuana, child neglect, two counts of possession of a weapon by a felon and two counts of probation violation.
Kodak, born Dieuson Octave, is reportedly being held at the Broward County Jail. Back in June, he was released from jail after serving about 100 days of a year long sentence.
The rapper is currently on probation, and was on a house arrest, so if these charges pan out, don’t expect the “SKRT” rapper to be coming home anytime soon. He was also recently indicted for sexual assault in South Carolina.
The struggle, is real.
Top Dawg Entertainment singer and songwriter SiR has toiled behind the scenes for years, culminating in his big break in working with the rising West Coast camp. The Inglewood, California native dropped his second full-length album, November, which serves as his second project for the TDE label.
The artist born Sir Darryl Faris dropped his debut album, Seven Sundays, on the Fresh Selects label. After working with TDE’s Jay Rock and Isiah Rashad on a pair of features, SiR was signed to the label in January 2017, dropping his EP HER TOO the following month.
With November, SiR lays down more of his smooth vocals and carrying the load nearly by himself. The 11–track album has two features with TDE’s Schoolboy Q on “Something Foreign” and British artist Etta Bond on “Something New.”
Production from Mndsgn, DJ Khalil, and others help round out November‘s lush sounds. Check out the stream of the project via Spotify below.
