Daily Design Inspiration AoiroStudio Apr 23, 2018 Part of the Daily Design Inspiration series that started it all on Abduzeedo. This is where you'll find the most interesting things/finds/work curated by one of us to simply inspire your day. Furthermore, it's an opportunity to feature work from more designers, photographers, and artists in general that we haven't had the chance to write or feature about in the past. For this Daily we are selecting in photography, branding, furniture design and more. Our goal is to diversify the types of work and in the future we can perhaps categorize them in different sections. For now we are going to stick to the simple format of images and links. I hope you enjoy and share with use via Twitter or our Tumblr. Until further notice, we'll display the images and the titles added to them. Because of little issues we had in the past, the images are still linked to their authors, we just won't mentioned who shared them like we used...
Typography: Letter Jam the Tooned Alphabet abduzeedo Apr 23, 2018 I have seen and feature so many posts on custom made alphabets. These typography experiments and explorations ranged from awesome 3D to very contemporary graphic design ideas. I am always amazed with the level of creativity, especially when you have to scale an idea to 26+ characters. FOREAL® Studio set the bar even higher now by exploring yet another great idea. They merged cartoon style illustrations with some 3D types to create an unique effect. It's the type of design that keeps bringing back some good old feelings.  Typography Below you can see the 26 characters: For more information make sure to check out:  www.weareforeal.com ...

Ver Para Oír / Jardín Japonés translated to See To Hear / Japanese Garden and I simply love this project. The mixture of the culture, colours and you just gotta love that font Avant Garde who has been my go-to font for years. Check it out, this project is beautifully shown in execution and presentation. Seeing To hear is a festival carried out within the cultural framework offered by the Japanese Garden, in which the senses of sight and hearing merge crossing each other generating new forms of perception, carried out from different sound activities and visuals. Meet ELIA: The world’s most intuitive tactile reading system AoiroStudio Apr 19, 2018 Back in 1829, Louis Braille introduced us the braille system. What seems to be working after all these years, studies show that the system relies on outdated technologies from the 1800s. Meet ELIA, a new, modern and efficient alternative that's incredibly easy to learn for people who have a visual impairment. This is such an interesting project that is currently live on Kickstarter. After testing this new system to over 300 participants, and analyzed over 175,000 responses, this what they came up with. Check it out! On our quest to re-examine braille, we created an easy to use tactile reading system, utilizing modern printing & technology. ELIA letters—known as ELIA Frames—leverage modern printing technology and design principles to optimize each letter’s design and create easily identifiable characters. We based ELIA Frames on the standard Roman alphabet, since roughly 70% of the world’s population uses it to read and...
Typographic Illustration for ESPN NEXT abduzeedo Apr 19, 2018 Pablo Olivera recently had the privilege to work with ESPN The Magazine on their NEXT Feature. The project included a typographic Intro Illustration a flat logotype of the Intro type and some custom letters which later turned into a font. The feature is about up coming and young star athletes, the next stars of their specific sports. The intro piece needed to have a futuristic feel to it so we used 3D type with LED styled lighting inner strips. The sports featured included Football, Baseball, Hockey and Basketball. I used line illustrations from each of the sports respective playing field/court to surround the type. The custom font took its styling form the intro type, keeping the inline and geometric angles to tie the feature together nicely. The font is a case alternative font allowing the Inline version or the solid version to be used by lower case or uppercase. Typographic Illustration For more...

Interface Design and Prototypes with InVision Studio abduzeedo Apr 18, 2018 It's never been a better time for a interface designer than present day. There are so many amazing tools and resources available and many more to come. One of the highly anticipated tools is the InVision Studio, which has been surrounded by a big hype partially generated by the super selective inviting system. It seems that more and more people are getting access to this great tool including me. With it's increased accessibility we're starting to see what the tool is capable of on sites like Dribbble and Behance. The beauty of InVision Studio is that it bridges the gap between UX/UI and Motion design. That has been a very time consuming effort for designers that relied on tools not created for UI/UX like After Effects or new tools that like Principle, which is a fantastic app, but the integration with other UI/UX tools are quite primitive. So will InVision Studio live up to its hype?...
Minimalist Brand Identity Created from Golden Ratio abduzeedo Apr 18, 2018 Yaiza Liébana. The brand identity for this psychiatric clinic relays on the layout created from golden ratio, which evokes classical aesthetic perfection and visual calm. This, altogether with the color palette, helps to generate a comfortable homelike feeling. The work was created and shared by Carles Rodrigo, a designer and photographer based in Valencia, Spain.  There's a lot to love about this project. For me just the simplicity and raw look aligned with beautiful typography selection makes it a winner. It's hard to design something nice and well balanced without much to play with. That's what makes these types of project look easy to create but when you try you will see how hard it is. Personally, when I try to do something like that I always feel that it's not complete. There's something missing. I wonder if Carles feels the same when doing this one.  Brand Identity
Industrial Design: MoDi - a smart sleep aid for smartphone addicts AoiroStudio Apr 19, 2018 Technology has come to an era where users are quite demanding of what they want in terms of size, performance, features and etc. The best example would be about our beloved smartphone, there is a long list of demands to tackle for companies in order to create the perfect smartphone. How about if all this demanding generated into an addiction? How many of us (including myself) use our smartphone before bed? Let's take a look at this concept that I would love to see on the market, a smart sleep aid designed by New York-based Industrial Designer Jay Kim. Jay did a stellar job on this project and I would like you guys to put a close attention to the process, especially on the research. It's quite an accomplishment, props to Jay! Redesigning the 1974 Minolta XL 400 Concept AoiroStudio Apr 18, 2018 We have featured the work of PDF Haus before on ABDZ. Now they are back with this cool concept (I presume) of what would look like today if they were redesigning the 1974 Minolta XL 400. It was a Super 8mm film camera that actually uses film cartridges! The team from PDF Haus decided to make this into a project with a question about: "What would this 20th-century filming device could look like today." As a result, they didn't change the essence of the previous design, they just made it more friendly. Would you buy one if it was available on the market? The project was carried out while envisioning how it would appear if a filming device of the 20th century is reborn as a 21st-century camcorder. Sheppard's Stunning Album Cover Design by Ars Thanea AoiroStudio Apr 17, 2018 Ars Thanea is an award-winning creative studio based in Warsaw, they have been working and producing some of the best works we have ever seen on ABDZ. The most amazing thing is even after all these years, they still surprise us with their creativity and perseverance to push the limits. Let's take a look at their album design for the indie pop band: Sheppard entitled: Watching The Sky. And as you can see they could have taken a simpler ride with CGI but decided to just hand-crafted. Props to everyone involved in the project. The indie pop band “Sheppard” from Australia, known for the hits such as “Geronimo” or “Let me down easy” approached us to create a cover for the newest album titled “Watching The Sky”. This time we decided to use true glass as the essential material. As the result, we blew several dozen...
Stylish Motion and Web Design by Nikoloz Ergemlidze abduzeedo Apr 16, 2018 Nikoloz Ergemlidze is a designer based in Paris,France. He has shared some beautiful web design projects on his Dribbble page. They feature not only great visual design but also clever motion design ideas. For me what it's interesting about his work is that it adopts elements and style of what I consider the newest trend in web design. It's highly editorial, with a rigid grid with elements well organized to create almost a poster like visual. Digital Natives Mural by Ben Johnston AoiroStudio Apr 17, 2018 We would love to share some of the recent work from our good friend Ben Johnston who is a designer & letterer from Toronto, Ontario. It's always an inspiration to see what Ben is working on and quite impressive as well. We are taking a look at this mural for Digital Natives, what is so cool about this piece is the text effect expressed which is some kind of a distortion that for us would be quite a good jam on Photoshop. But imagine on a mural? The result is just stunning, props to Ben!
