Web Design: Beautifully Designed Home Pages abduzeedo Jun 18, 2018 Matt Wojtaś shared a set of beautifully design website home pages and shared on his Behance profile. I believe most of the work was done as a concept and personal exercise, however, there's a lot to love about them, especially the editorial design look precisely translated to web design. I particularly, like the way typography and imagery superimpose each other. I know it would be very hard to be able to make it work dynamically and without a highly curated photo selection, still, it looks great. Another thing I like about some of the designs is the way he played with colors. He creates a good division of content by breaking the screen into sections. Again, I'd love to see how they would scale to different screen sizes.  For more information about Matt make sure to check out his website at wojtas.co Web design
Cadillac Mural & Typographic Illustration by Mark van Leeuwen AoiroStudio Jun 18, 2018 I've been following the work of Mark van Leeuwen for years, especially on his Instagram. His stylish works in lettering and type clearly made a difference in our day-to-day with typography. We are taking a look at this very cool mural for Cadillac (Europe) painted in Munich, Germany for what they called: Stroke Art Fair. You just gotta love the colour contrast used with a simple black and white, I personally do love the 360 approach taken on the car display to show both sides of the car instead of one. Chinese Ethnographic Notes with Erika Parfenova AoiroStudio Jun 18, 2018 Something we rarely do feature here on ABDZ are photographers with street portraits series. We are usually all about architecture but I do agree that is really nice to witness life around the World through the medium of photography. We are featuring the work of Erika Parfenova who is a freelance photographer and a contributor to iStock. Her series entitled: "Chinese Ethnographic Notes" with portraits of people living what she cutely mentioned: Tea Homeland. My acquaintance with China began with tea. Once I was at tea ceremony, and then again and again... Chinese tea has become a part of my life. Of course I dreamed of seeing tee homeland once. Santiago Moriv's Tribute to the Grand Hotel Budapest AoiroStudio Jun 18, 2018 Let's start off the week with a beautiful tribute to the Grand Budapest Hotel directed by the mighty Wes Anderson. This tribute has been expressed through the form of illustration and character design by Santiago Moriv who is an illustrator and visual artist from Medellín, Colombia. For those who have watched the movie, Santiago focused on the very key elements of such a successful movie and still very pleasurable to watch after one more than once. This is a project that i have been doing with a lot of patience :D More Links Learn more about Santiago Moriv Illustration & Character Design
Daily Design Inspiration AoiroStudio Jun 15, 2018 Part of the Daily Design Inspiration series that started it all on Abduzeedo. This is where you'll find the most interesting things/finds/work curated by one of us to simply inspire your day. Furthermore, it's an opportunity to feature work from more designers, photographers, and artists in general that we haven't had the chance to write or feature about in the past. For this Daily we are selecting in photography, illustration, digital art and more. Our goal is to diversify the types of work and in the future we can perhaps categorize them in different sections. For now we are going to stick to the simple format of images and links. I hope you enjoy and share with use via Twitter or our Tumblr. Until further notice, we'll display the images and the titles added to them. Because of little issues we had in the past, the images are still linked to their authors, we just won't mentioned who shared them like we used...

Brand Identity for The Clifford Pier Singapore AoiroStudio Jun 14, 2018 It's booked! We will be heading down to Singapore for our yearly vacation, nothing cooler than exploring designers, artists, and photographers based in this beautiful country. Let's take a look at the work of Foreign Policy and their Brand Identity for The Clifford Pier. I took this particular project because the design truly reflects the colours from Singapore after watching so many travel videos on the subject. As they quote: "Collaterals with color palette in sea-foam, coral and Caspian blue; classic postage stamps accented with tropical flora and fauna". Sharing an entity with its heritage, The Clifford Pier draws from its legacy as a bustling port in Singapore during the 1930s. Ginger flower motifs pay homage to William Farquhar who was fascinated with local botany during his time on the island. Collaterals with color palette in sea-foam, coral and caspian blue; classic postage stamps accented with tropical flora and fauna, along with architectural...

I thought this would be the perfect introduction for our feature of an Exhibition Poster Series for Centrepoint Spacesuit Collection 18. It's a collaboration between many talented artists including Ryan Atkinson, James Elgie, Rijin Kunnath and RODAS ®. Imagine the conventional spacesuit into a fashion collection, what do you think? While the likes of Chanel, Gucci and Louis Vuitton are being inspired by space — Centrepoint created a spacesuit collection inspired by earth’s trends. Editorial Design: The Big Disconnect abduzeedo Jun 13, 2018 Wes L Cockx shared a beautiful editorial design project on his Behance profile. It was for The Big Disconnect article for the Atlanta publication. The article talks about, or asks what happened to Google Fiber in Atlanta. But we are not featuring it here because of the content per se, but how the content was laid out on the pages as well as the beautiful and bold 3D text.  Below you can see some details of the final piece. In addition Wes, shared a couple "work in progress" examples of alternative designs that were tried. I always love to see those, especially because it gives a bit more perspective that people try a lot of things before landing on what they consider final. Editorial design Work in progress ...

Today they launched the DesignOps Handbook, an excellent resource for companies that are willing to invest in design. What are DesignOps and when is it time to build a team around it? As companies mature and invest in design, they need to operationalize workflow, hiring, alignment between teams, and more so designers can focus on design work while someone else takes care of the rest — enter DesignOps. Poster Design for Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp Dubai abduzeedo Jun 12, 2018 Ben Ali Souheil shared a beautiful poster design project on his Behance profile. The work was done for the Red Bull Music Academy BASS CAMP, a branded affair that rounds up an ensemble of regional artists over three days of collaborative creativity. Dubai hosted its first BASS CAMP in 2013 at Bastakiya, a traditional backdrop to the urban metropolis. The location celebrated the fusion of medieval and modern, serving as inspiration for this design project. From the logo lock-up in the Kufi style, to rich, colourful patterns with thematic elements, every aspect of the event's identity celebrates music in its kaleidoscopic glory. "This design story came together in what I think was the centerpiece of this project, the limited-edition canvas posters named after the 7th note on the musical scale." These Major 7 posters were intricately woven together in the vibrant thread of a geographically-relevant visual language, capturing the essence of RBMA...

Black & White Photography: Kontrast 01 AoiroStudio Jun 12, 2018 I am not a big fan of black & white photography, it's more likely a personal taste in the representation of images rather than the style itself. But it doesn't I can't appreciate others awesome photography coming in black & white. Let's take a look at the work of Paweł Franik who is wearing my hats from an art director, photographer, filmmaker and a motion design from Warsaw, Poland. He introduced a conceptual project in black & white images where they will be placed against each other to create a very cool and unique composition. Kontrast 01 is a conceptual project based on the arrangement of photos against each other. Each photo presents a different space and situation. The contrast and composition of the pictures together form a geometrical form More Links Learn about about Paweł Franik Follow Paweł's work on Behance Black & White Photography

Adobe Revives Fonts from Legendary Bauhaus Design Masters abduzeedo Jun 11, 2018 Today Adobe announced the launch of The Hidden Treasures - Bauhaus Dessau, a campaign that will bring to life nearly century old original typography sketches and unpublished letter fragments from legendary Bauhaus design masters that were rediscovered and completed to inspire the next generation of creatives. Bauhaus Dessau, the world famous school of design, was closed in 1932 by the National Socialist Party leaving behind unfinished masterpieces, created by legendary design masters: Xanti Schawinsky, Joost Schmidt, Carl Marx, Alfred Arndt and Reinhold Rossig. Typography from Bauhaus Dessau is instantly recognizable. Simple geometric forms, unadorned with serifs. Vibrant, expressive colors. Balanced layouts that convey a clear and direct message. Some of the world’s most celebrated ad layouts, political posters, album covers, and logo designs owe their power to lettering designs created at Bauhaus Dessau. World-renowned typeface designer Erik Spiekermann led the effort to turn the lost letter...
Elegant Editorial Design for Typoforma Issue No. 1 abduzeedo Jun 11, 2018 Firman Suci Ananda and Zulfan Iskandar are designers from Indonesia and they shared this very inspiring graphics and editorial design post on their Behance profile. It is titled "Typoforma - Issue No.1" and as you can see by its name, the focus is pretty much on typography and composition. You might ask me, this looks like any other editorial post. You are right, however, this post, in particular, illustrates quite well the direction I believe the web is going to. So for this post, I just wanted to share a bit more of these beautiful editorial design work and hope they can serve as inspiration for your next project, hopefully, you can start translating this style to the web, even responsive.
